3 favourite Podcasts for female creatives
A little while back I wrote a short blog post listing some of my favourite podcasts for creatives. I wanted to do a little update, seeing as I listen to podcasts more and more, particularly on long car journeys to weddings! Two of the podcasts are aimed at women (sorry boys!), but there’s some valuable lessons in there for all. Let’s jump right in!
- The One Girl Band Podcast – very recently discovered, each episode talks about different aspects of freelancing. Founded by Lola Hoad, a designer and coach, who also has a co-working space in Brighton! I admire Lola’s determination to get sh*t done, even if it seems daunting at first. As someone who would love to open a co-working space of my own one day, she’s definitely someone I look up to!
- Failure by Design – with only two episodes, and more to come, designer Adrian Powell talks to other designers and individuals in the creative industry about their journey, failures, and what they did to overcome them. Some inspirational stuff for when you need a ‘pick me up’. We can all learn from our failures, in whatever pursuit it may be, but remember, celebrate those small victories too!
- Creative Women International – a well established podcast by now, but I’ve only just come across it when searching for podcasts on ‘women in business’. The podcast is aimed at freelancers in the creative market, giving you business advice as well as that dose of motivation we all need from time to time.
As always, if you have any podcast suggestions, do send them my way! I’m still enjoying listening to the Adam Buxton podcast, although sadly they are now on a summer break and won’t be back with new episodes until September. Happy listening and don’t forget to leave your suggestions in the comments!
