Ilam Hall Wedding, Derbyshire
Jenny and Reuben chose to have their wedding at Ilam Hall – a youth hostel set in the beautiful countryside of Derbyshire. Jenny grew up in the nearby Leek, and they had both been to Ilam Hall on school trips, so it made perfect sense! The grounds surrounding the hall are absolutely stunning and the hall itself was ideal for their colourful wedding.
The entire wedding was a family affair – over the year leading up to the wedding, Jenny and Reuben collected glass jars and tin cans to make DIY decorations. Jenny sewed up 40 meters of bunting to decorate the rooms. The hand painted tin cans housed beautiful plants, grown by Jenny and Reuben’s family, for the guests to take home after the wedding. Instead of a guest book, they chose to have old postcards for guests to sign. Jenny also hand painted all the signs around the venue – the whole day truly was handmade, and what a result! It’s always lovely to see the entire family and friends coming together to create a beautiful day.
The biggest congratulations, Jenny and Reuben! It was a beautiful day filled with your personalities, made even better with possibly the best cheese wedding cake ever!
